It’s OK — and totally normal — to feel nervous before starting chemotherapy for metastatic breast cancer (MBC). But one great way to alleviate your nerves is to be prepared.

Chemo affects everyone differently, so knowing how to get ready can be hard. For example, you’ll want to think about getting things ready at home, packing a chemo bag to bring with you, and meal prepping some food. You’ll also need to talk with family and friends so you feel supported throughout your treatment.

Luckily, we’ve curated a checklist of everything you might want to think about before starting chemo. And know that despite your best efforts to be prepared, unexpected stuff will come up — and that’s OK! This is where your support network comes in. Never be afraid to reach out for help.
